She walked in clutching her mom's hand, eyes wide, clearly rehearsing her bravery in real time. We had chatted through what to expect, answered every question, explained each step. She was as ready as she was going to be.
Then we reached for the marker — to place a tiny dot on each earlobe for symmetry before piercing.
She yelled "OW!"
The room erupted. Her mom, our team, eventually even her — all of us laughing together, the tension completely broken. Because the marker, of course, doesn't hurt at all. It doesn't even tickle.
But that moment told us everything. The anticipation — the not knowing — is always the hardest part. Not the piercing itself. The anxiety leading up to it.
It's why we do things the way we do. And it's why, twenty-plus years in, ear piercing remains one of the most meaningful services we offer.
Why a Fine Jewelry Boutique for Ear Piercing?
We get asked this sometimes — usually by someone who's picturing a kiosk at the mall. And we completely understand the question.
Here's our answer: because your ears — or your child's ears — deserve the same care and expertise as any piece of fine jewelry. We are a family-owned boutique staffed by people who have spent decades in this craft. We use only 14k yellow gold or titanium piercing posts — the most hypoallergenic options available. We have two piercing specialists perform both ears simultaneously, so no child ever leaves our store with one ear done and the other still waiting. And we send every single client home with detailed aftercare instructions and our antibacterial aftercare gel.
This isn't a sideline for us. It's a service we take seriously — and our five-star Google reviews from families across Westchester County and Fairfield County reflect that.

Who We Pierce
Everyone. Truly.
Babies getting their very first earrings. Little girls who have been asking for months — or years. Tweens marking a milestone. Teens celebrating a graduation. Moms getting a second piercing alongside their daughters. Adults who simply never got around to it and finally decided today is the day.
Some of our favorite appointments are mother-daughter pairs, best friends going together, or a grandmother bringing in her granddaughter for a moment they'll both remember forever. There is no age requirement and no wrong reason. If you're ready, we're ready.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Before you book, you are always welcome to stop in with your child first — no appointment needed for a visit. Let her see our earring selection, meet our team, ask every question, and get comfortable with the space. We find that children who visit beforehand are so much more relaxed on piercing day. There's no pressure to book on the spot. We want her to be ready.
The appointment is scheduled for 30 minutes, though the actual piercing takes just seconds. Here's how it goes:
We'll start by showing you and your child our selection of hypoallergenic piercing earrings — 14k yellow gold styles in several designs, and titanium options for those with more sensitive skin. Once you've chosen, we'll mark each earlobe with a dot for precise, symmetrical placement. You approve the placement. Then — 1, 2, 3 — both ears are pierced simultaneously by two specialists, at exactly the same moment.
We do both ears at once on purpose. Always. Because we never want a child to experience one side and then have to work up the courage all over again for the second.
Our pricing reflects the level of expertise, care, and quality materials we bring to every appointment — and our clients consistently tell us we are extremely reasonably priced for the caliber of service they receive. Everything is included: the hypoallergenic piercing earrings, the labor, and your aftercare gel. For current pricing and availability, simply click the booking links below.
One thing worth knowing before your appointment: the earrings used for piercing are designed specifically for the healing process and are meant to stay in for the full six weeks. After that, your child will transition into her true first pair — and this is honestly one of the most exciting parts. For the first year, we recommend 14k solid yellow gold or higher, the most hypoallergenic option for newly pierced ears. We happen to carry a beautiful selection of exactly that — delicate, age-appropriate, genuinely lovely pieces that are perfect for that milestone moment. If you decide to choose a pair at the time of your piercing appointment, you'll enjoy a special discount. Our little thank-you for celebrating with us.
Does It Hurt?
Honestly? We always tell kids it's a bit of a pinch — less than a shot at the doctor's office, and over in a fraction of a second. Most children, once it's done, look at us and say "that's it?"
There may be a slight tingling sensation for up to an hour afterward, but it fades quickly — usually within minutes. The anticipation is genuinely the hardest part. (See: the marker story above.)

Aftercare — Everything You Need to Know
Good aftercare is what makes for a happy, healthy healing experience. Here's exactly what we recommend:
For the first six weeks — keep the original piercing earrings in at all times. They need to stay put for the full six weeks while the lobe heals. Do not remove them.
Clean twice a day using the aftercare gel we send home with you. Apply a small amount directly from the tube around the front of the earring and between the backing and the ear. Always use clean hands.
Twist the earrings gently a few times a day to prevent them from adhering to the skin during healing.
Don't push the backs on too tight. The backs should have a slight space between them and the earlobe — never flush against the skin. The body is remarkable at healing itself, and if the back is pressed too close, it can actually become embedded. A little space is essential.
Keep hands away from those ears. This is the number one rule, especially for little ones. Clean hands only, and only when necessary.
Yes, they can swim the same day. No need to wait — jump right in.
After six weeks, it's time to transition into her true first pair. Stick to 14k solid yellow gold or higher for the first full year. After that, you can gradually introduce white gold, rose gold, sterling silver, and gold-plated options — in that order. Keep earrings in at all times for at least one year to prevent the holes from closing.
What Does an Infection Look Like — and What Should You Do?
Infections are rare, and they almost always happen for one reason: little fingers touching little ears. The best prevention is simply keeping hands clean and away from the piercing.
Signs of a mild infection include redness, warmth, or slight swelling around the piercing. A mild case can often resolve on its own with consistent, thorough cleaning using the aftercare gel.
If the infection becomes more significant — with discharge, increasing pain, or spreading redness — the earring should be removed and the piercing allowed to close and fully heal. Sometimes the body simply rejects a new piercing, and that's okay. It's not a reflection of anything done wrong. In that case, wait at least six weeks for full healing and then schedule a repiercing appointment when you're ready — we're here for that too. If you are ever deeply concerned about what you're seeing, please don't hesitate to consult your pediatrician or physician.
